Collegiate Restaurant’s next chapter as a learning lab

“Alfred State is excited with the progress we have made in assuming the operation of the Collegiate. We are thankful for all the help and guidance we have received from John Ninos and his family, and we can’t wait to continue their legacy with the re-opening of the restaurant later this summer.”

Seeing the process has been eye opening and something I will never forget.”

Connor Welsh

Four students from Alfred State College’s Architecture and Design Department participated in an inter-campus collaboration with Alfred University, working under the guidance of the Southern Tier Architectural Resource Center (STAR) and Professor Alan Vlakancic. This semester-long initiative focused on exploring innovative uses of terra cotta, a material deeply rooted in the region’s history.
