Researching Scholarships

The Student Records and Financial Services Office recommends the following free external scholarship search services to help you in obtaining off-campus scholarships.

NOTE: This is not an all-inclusive listing of free scholarship search services. When researching scholarships, you should use your good judgment and never pay to apply for a scholarship.  Alfred State does not support any scholarship that fails to comply with federal nondiscrimination laws - including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972

  • Scholarships.com  - As one of the most widely used and trusted scholarship search engines, they’ve helped over 26 million students and families find college scholarships. Will you be their next winner?
  • Fastweb.com - Connects students to college scholarships, trade school scholarships, and financial aid news and resources. 
  • Chegg.com - Allows students to find and apply for scholarships, along with other student-focused services like homework help, textbook rentals, and tutoring. 
  • Appily.com - The nation’s largest, multi-billion dollar scholarship database.
  • Niche.com - Search lists of scholarships by choosing a category or get matched to college scholarships you are eligible for.

Numerous scholarships are given to continuing students based on their academic performance while at Alfred State. A special Honors Convocation is held each year to honor these recipients.

Students can obtain further information from the Admissions Office or their academic department.
