“Learning both the creative and the principle of marketing gives you the real-world experience of what it would be like in marketing. It helps me stand out to have knowledge of both.”

Jessie Marusarz

Jessie Marusarz (Perry, NY) enjoyed her art classes in high school and found the Alfred State marketing program to continue to create and make digital content.

“I came to Alfred State because my whole family went here, my parents met here. I also got the chance to play basketball here.”

“If you cannot decide or if you are struggling in classes, they have people to help. There are advisors, success coaches, tutors, and resident assistants. They have gotten me through a lot and eased the stress and the transition into college.”

Tyson Comfort

Tyson Comfort (Avoca, NY) was not positive about what he wanted to study when he graduated high school. The flexibility of starting as an undeclared major at Alfred State has him headed in the right direction.

“As an undeclared student you have four semesters to declare a major. You have plenty of time to dapple into different classes. I came here and got my general education classes out of the way.”

Pioneer PROfiles - Ashleigh Bair

“I live in Pennsylvania, and I do not pay the same out of state that I would for any other New York school. This helped my decision because it made it more affordable than going to a school in state.”

Ashleigh Bair

Ashleigh Bair (Eldred, PA) crossed the border to pursue a marketing degree from Alfred State. With dreams of owning her own business one day, she is excited to take what she is learning into the business world.

“There are so many different fields you can go into, so many creative sides, and there is money in welding right now. They need a lot of new workers.”

Alexander Preston

Staying close to home and continuing his education in welding led Alexander Preston (Arkport, NY) to Alfred State.

“I chose Alfred State because all I have heard my entire life is Alfred is the place to be. I studied welding in BOCES in high school and just carried my studies over.”

Kendra Hammond

Cohle Whitehouse (Corning, NY) has always had a passion for numbers and problem-solving. When it came time to choose a college, he was not entirely sure which direction to go, so he decided to start with the Liberal Arts: Math and Science program at Alfred State.

Pioneer PROfiles - Marina Miketish

“I am into math and science, so I like problem solving. I like that the labs are hands-on, which give me the chance to fully understand what is being taught. The labs really go with the lectures. You are learning something and then you are learning it again in a way that will be useful outside of college.”

Marina Miketish

Marina Miketish wanted to stay closer to home, attend a school that was affordable, and study Mechatronics. Alfred State has provided that and more to Marina as she double majors in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Mechatronics.
