Intercultural Living Exchange | Living Learning Community

The Intercultural Living Exchange is a living learning community designed for upper class End who exemplify and promote acceptance through engagement across differences. This community is open to all who wish to live and learn amongst a culturally eclectic group of peers. We are all cultural beings, and this community seeks to celebrate diversity in all its forms. An important component of this community is a commitment to not only actively foster one’s own cultural humility but to play an active role in promoting and enhancing campus and community programs geared towards intercultural development.

All residents will have the opportunity to take the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), an internationally recognized assessment that helps measure how attuned groups or individuals are at engaging cultural nuance and complexity. Participants can then intentionally enhance their cultural growth through the Intercultural Development Plan, creating a unique pathway for cultural growth (be it through enriching ones connection with their own cultural groupings or expanding knowledge and appreciation of another culture).

In addition, residents will have opportunities to develop their leadership skills through active participation in the developing, coordinating, and facilitating cultural enrichment programs supported by the Director of Global Engagement and Civic Wellbeing.
