Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) led the Lady Pioneers with 16 points and eight rebounds while Nuri Bey (Bronx/Evander Childs) had a monster night with 14 points and 21 rebounds.  ASC was slowed by 2 for 22 shooting from three and 50% foul shooting.

Some personal goals I had for myself this season was to have a winning record, and also to make it to regionals.

Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) continued her solid offensive play as of late with a game high 22 points.  Corrine Wright (Campbell Savona) added 12, Nuri Bey (Bronx/Evander Childs) finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Amie Brooks (Pavilion) chipped in 11.

The blue & gold look to rebound on Thursday when they host Jamestown CC at 5:30 p.m.

Changes in Basketball DH Tuesday

Changes have been made to the schedule for Alfred State College's basketball doubleheader on Tuesday evening.  The men's contest at Genesee CC will be now played at 4 p.m. followed by the women battling at 6 p.m.

Changes were necessary due to the impending forecast of poor weather.

Lady Pioneers Down NCCC

The Alfred State College women's basketball team used a 16-4 second half run en route to a 71-66 victory over Niagara CCC on Saturday afternoon.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 11-8 (1-3 Region III Division II) on the season.

With the game tied 51-51 with just over six minutes left, ASC went on the game deciding run.  The Thunder Wolves tried to cut into the lead in the final minutes but could never get closer than five.

Erie CC hit 19 out of their 24 foul shots as they defeated Alfred State 64-55 in a WNYAC match-up at the Flickenger Center on Tuesday. The Lady Pioneers fall to 10-8 on the year (0-3 WNYAC) while the Lady Kats improve to 9-9 (2-1 WNYAC).

Jasmine Ball led ECC with 15 points and 13 boards while Breanna Harris also chipped in 15 (3 for 3 from three). Bianca Dennis also finished in double-figures with 14. ECC was 20 for 61 from the field, 5 for 12 from three, and 19 for 24 from the line.

The Alfred State College women's basketball team fell 69-66 at Mercyhurst North East in a WNYAC battle that came down to the final seconds.  The Lady Pioneers had three shots in the final moments that rimmed out that would have sent the game into overtime.

ASC shot just 39.1% from the field and was just 8 for 18 from the foul line.

The Alfred State College women's basketball team could not rally all the way back and fell 64-51 to Jamestown CC in their Western New York Athletic Conference opener.  ASC is now 10-6 on the year while JCC, ranked #17 in Division II of the NJCAA, improves to 16-3.

Medaille JV Shoots Past Lady Pioneers

The Alfred State College women's basketball team fell 74-69 to a hot shooting Medaille JV squad in their 2011 opener.  The Lady Pioneers head into WNYAC play with a 10-5 mark.

Medaille connected on 11 out of 27 three-point attempts as they held on to hold off a late Lady Pioneers rally.  The Mavericks led 44-33 at half but saw the lead shrink to three in the final minutes.

The Alfred State College women's basketball team closed out the 2010 portion of their schedule with a 95-35 win over Houghton JV.  The Lady Pioneers will head into 2011 with a 10-4 mark.
