In Studio Tokyo, which ran from Jan. 9-24, the students were able to explore Japanese art, cinema, animation, and digital animation.

New four-year graphic and media design program available

This program will focus on developing the contemporary problem-solving and design skills needed to enter the workforce and to apply the elements and principles of design, drawing, and visual communication. An awareness of design history is combined with the latest topics in graphic and media design to provide an informed student aimed at innovation in the field.

Student-crafted marionettes on display, up for auction

A silent auction of all the marionettes is held daily in the gallery from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Proceeds from the auction will go toward purchasing equipment for digital media and animation students.

Students construct, paint giant Santa Claus decoration for Wellsville community

The decoration, made of exterior plywood, is currently in front of the Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce building, 114 N. Main St. in Wellsville. Students in the college’s building construction program built the Santa Claus and students in the digital media and animation program painted it.

Professor Schwartz to Give TEDx Talk in Buffalo Today

Jeremy Speed Schwartz, assistant professor of Digital Media & Animation, will be delivering a talk as part of TEDxBuffalo, an independently organized TED event, on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 11:24 a.m. at Canisius College’s Montante Cultural Center. Professor Speed Schwartz will be discussing experiments and collaborations in science and art. Alfred State will also be broadcasting the event live on its own campus in the Student Leadership Center’s small event space.
