Alfred State Culinary Arts to Host Veterans Day Fall Buffet

The Alfred State College (ASC) Culinary Arts department will host a Veterans Day Fall Buffet at the Wellsville Campus

The Alfred State College (ASC) Culinary Arts department will host a Veterans Day (11/11) Fall Buffet at the Wellsville Campus. Proceeds of the event will benefit the LEEK Hunting Preserve and Culinary Arts Scholarships.

The cost of the buffet, held in the Culinary Arts Building from 5 - 7 p.m., is $18 for adults and $12 for children 10 and under.

Alfred State Archery Shoots Straight at USA Archery Collegiate 3D Nationals

The Alfred State College (ASC) archery team finished 5th in the men’s hunter division at the USA Archery Collegiate 3D Nationals. The eight members of the team competed in Foley, Alabama in the event hosted by the Archery Shooter’s Association.

The Alfred State College (ASC) archery team finished 5th in the men’s hunter division at the USA Archery Collegiate 3D Nationals. The eight members of the team competed in Foley, Alabama in the event hosted by the Archery Shooter’s Association.

350 collegiate archers representing a record 34 colleges and universities competed vying for national titles. The event started with two days of ranking rounds where archers shot individually at 40 targets to establish team brackets.

Masonry students at Alfred State College are helping rebuild the foundation of one Knoxville man’s home impacted by the historic flooding in the Twin Tiers.

Masonry students at Alfred State College are helping rebuild the foundation of one Knoxville man’s home impacted by the historic flooding in the Twin Tiers.

John Zuck, a homeowner in Knoxville, felt the brunt of the storm on August 18th.

The storm wiped out the foundation to his home, but he had trouble finding a contractor. Masonry students at Alfred State College are now helping Zuck through the Mennonite Disaster Service. They are not only gaining field experience, but also helping the local community.

Sharing memories and wisdom, Alfred State College (ASC) Class of 1962 graduate Tom Golisano, returned to campus to speak to current Pioneer students and faculty.

Golisano shared memories of living in Robinson/Champlin Hall, trips to the Beacon, and his 8 a.m. accounting class with Professor Thomas Dunn. He credits Dunn for understanding his career goals, how a degree from Alfred State would assist, and leading him on the right path to success as an extremely successful entrepreneur.

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer today announced $1,484,675 in federal funding for SUNY Alfred State College of Technology through the U.S. Department of Labor, in partnership with the Appalachian Regional Commission.

Schumer today announced $1,484,675 in federal funding for SUNY Alfred State College of Technology through the U.S. Department of Labor, in partnership with the Appalachian Regional Commission. Schumer said the grant will be used to enhance workforce development initiatives to meet training needs like specialized welding skills for two major industrial employers in the region: Alstom and Ljungström.
