At Alfred State, we take pride in preparing our students to be ready to start careers while supporting them with our caring community. This week we spotlight another award-winning faculty member.

Alfred State educates young women and men, building them into career-ready young professionals.

In the case of some programs, they are literally building, and one of those faculty who excel at this is Amanda Snyder.

Amanda is one of our phenomenal instructors in our Building Trades program. I recently had the pleasure to be present as she received a national award. Amanda was presented with the Shirley McVay Wiseman Award for Exceptional Promise at the National Association of Home Builders Annual Conference.

The award recognizes an individual in the profession who has overcome obstacles and demonstrated excellence in the beginning stages of their career. How fortunate is it that our students get instruction from such an esteemed member of their profession.

We are all very proud of Amanda, and it is my honor to recognize her tremendous achievement in this Friday Feature.
