Members of Gamma Theta Gamma took a walk down memory lane as they returned to campus to celebrate 100 years of brotherhood. A full weekend of activities connected brothers from seven different decades.

Alfred State’s Day of Giving raises over $230,000

Funds donated from this yearly event benefit scholarships, new programs, updated technology, athletics, and so much more.

Alfred State College’s Be a Life Changer Major Gift Campaign is nearing the finish line. $7.2 million of the $8 million dollar goal has been raised thus far. Money raised through this campaign will support new programs, scholarships, athletics, technology, and the greatest needs of the college.

Alfred State team wins inaugural Jon Shay Memorial Golf Tournament

Jay Wilder, Lew Rice, and Brett LlewellynAlfred State College (ASC) proudly participated in the inaugural Jon Shay Memorial Golf Tournament on June 25 at Brae Burn Golf Course in Dansville, and even ended up coming away with the victory.

Alfred State College (ASC) proudly participated in the inaugural Jon Shay Memorial Golf Tournament on June 25 at Brae Burn Golf Course in Dansville, and even ended up coming away with the victory.

The event was held in memory of Jon Shay, who passed away on Jan. 19, 2021, and was sponsored by the Dansville Lion’s Club to support Noyes Hospital in Dansville through the Foundation for Noyes Health. The hospital is raising $1.1 to renovate Noyes’ inpatient care unit on the hospital’s third floor.

Alfred State College raises awareness for Doc Bruce Campaign at Turning Stone Resort Casino

In addition to enjoying a round of golf on June 22, participants in the 2021 Anthony S. Santaro Scholarship Golf Classic at Turning Stone Resort Casino were also able to learn more about Alfred State College’s Doc Bruce Campaign at a post-event reception.

Held each year in June at the golf course at Turning Stone in Verona, the Golf Classic attracts more than 350 participants, according to a description of the event on the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of New York State website. The AGC presents the Golf Classic each year.

Alfred State looks to build state-of-the-art ‘Doc Bruce Construction Materials Laboratory’

Two of Dr. Bruce’s former students who graduated from Alfred State in 1977 and are now industry leaders are co-chairing an exciting industry-wide campaign to raise $500,000 to build The Doc Bruce Construction Materials Laboratory on campus. 

For more than two decades, Alfred State College (ASC) Professor William “Doc” Bruce, DE, PE, was a beloved mentor and gained the respect of faculty, industry leaders, and students alike for his excellence in education.
