Alfred State College is proud to announce that two of its students, Emily Clough and Errol Mars, have been named recipients of the Vanguard Award for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Alfred State College (ASC) is pleased to announce that it has received a $50,000 grant from the National Fuel Gas Company Foundation. This grant will benefit ASC’s heavy equipment operations program, as well as the college’s Doc Bruce Fundraising Campaign that aims to bolster the construction management program.

Alfred State College (ASC) is proud to announce that Courtney DeRusha, a masonry student from Corning, has been named to the 2021 Class of Quarry Farm Fellows by the Center for Mark Twain Studies.

Applied learning is at the heart of an Alfred State College (ASC) education, with students gaining the knowledge and skills they need to succeed through hands-on, real-world projects. A terrific example of this is the college’s autobody wreck/rebuild program.

Kaleigh Ligoci, a 2009 graduate of Alfred State’s culinary arts: baking, production and management program, is now the co-owner of a brand-new cake shop in the village of Liverpool called “Sugar Blossom Cake Shop.”

Under the guidance of Instructor Scott Hillman, 16 HVAC students installed an entire plumbing system at a newly built house on Clark Street in Wellsville.

Alfred State alumnus Jacob Nohai was recently featured in an article by the Epoch Times titled, “Hard Work and Dirty Jobs Afford Plenty of Opportunity.”

With the guidance of Professor Mike Ronan, students gathered outdoors for a meeting, following safety protocols with masks and individual temperature checks of all attendees. 

Alfred State College’s own Stephen Richard and Courtney DeRusha are donating their expertise, time, and energy to a project involved the restoration of the Langdon/Clemens family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery.
