Alfred State and Tompkins Cortland CC battled to a 1-1 tie at the Mullen Hill Field in Alfred in the season opener for both teams.
Friendly 5K Helps Restock Local Food Pantry

The Alfred State College cross country team helped restock the Alfred-Almond food pantry by hosting the 3rd annual Friendly 5K. Six local high school teams took on the newly redesigned course at Alfred State

Rosati attributes this ranking to a number of positive initiatives taking place on campus, including the establishment of a Center for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture, the development of specialized baccalaureate degree programs such as digital media and animation, financial planning, and information technology/network administration, as well as new townhouse-style residence halls, to name just a few.

Cross Country raises $1,000 for Cancer Society

The Alfred State College cross country team started preseason practice in an unusual way to celebrate the college's Centennial. The 17 members of the 2007 squad along with Head Coach Gary Moore and Assistant Coach Jeremiah Bailey participated in a 130 mile relay run that took them from Lockport to Alfred and raised $1,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Rees & Grillo Honored by SUNY

Alfred State College Professors Jim Grillo, Hammondsport, and
Robert E. Rees, Alfred, both members of the School of Management
and Engineering Technology, were among 28 SUNY-wide faculty members recognized
by the State University of New York as Distinguished Teaching Professor and
Distinguished Service Professor, respectively.
The designation constitutes a promotion above that of full professor.
