Six students enrolled in the Alfred State College construction management engineering technology bachelor-level program recently took second place in the Commercial Building Division at the Associated Schools of Construction Region 1 (Virginia to Maine) estimating and scheduling competition, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fairfield, NJ. In addition to the special recognition the students and program received attesting to their success, the students each received a copy of Win Estimator software for their use.

Students enrolled in Alfred State College’s motorsports technology program recently traveled to Mooresville and Concord, NC, to get an insider’s view of professional racing. 

“Trips such as our Race Country trip are designed to broaden the education of the motorsports technology students,” says Automotive Trades Department, who accompanied them. “We expose them to the real, professional part of the motor sports industry—the down and dirty yet fun and profitable part of their chosen future.”

Clark, Maliszewski, and RichardsonAlfred State College’s fourth annual “Taste of Wellsville” was another success story as it raised $250 for the SPCA serving Allegany County and the concurrent culinary arts: baking, production and management community bake sale raised a record $2,800 for SkillsUSA, breast cancer research, and the Top Hat Club, the culinary honor society.

Official Opening of Pioneer Stadium Gateway Building

Anderson performed the ritual ribbon cutting.
