Reflecting on earning her CMA, Chase said, “I feel accomplished to finally have some recognition for all of my career experience in the field. I really enjoyed taking a deep dive into the academic portion of managerial accounting.”

Programs now accredited by IACBE include: business administration (AS), marketing (AAS), sport management (AS), accounting (AAS), financial planning (BBA), technology management (BBA), business administration (BBA), and sport management (BBA).

Danielle Green, an assistant professor in Alfred State’s Business Department, noted that she will be donating her time in January during the evenings to instruct a basic training course to prospective students.

A few years back, Gorman created an applied learning experience for her strategic marketing students, allowing them to apply their education to local businesses.

Brian Perry, the executive vice president, chairman, and an owner of Perry’s, is both a fourth-generation member of the 100-year-old business, as well as a second-generation Alfred State Pioneer.

In addition to becoming immersed in cutting-edge sport management research while creating a review of literature, the senior capstone class is designed for Alfred State sport management to work closely with a local sport organization to address problems and concerns through research-based recommendations and solutions.

Alfred State College students were able to tour the athletic facilities at Penn State University recently, gaining some valuable advice and insight into sport facility management along the way.

John Lisec, an assistant professor in the Business Department, said the event provided a wonderful opportunity for Alfred State sport management students to interact with sport industry professionals and develop tangible opportunities for success and job placement.

During this recent trip, 13 students attended a presentation from the meeting’s featured speaker, Kathleen Roth, CFP® CeFT®, president and co-founder of Waterstone Financial Services. After the presentation, the students were able to network with Roth and other professionals at the meeting. 

Three Alfred State sport management students were able to gain valuable industry insight and engage in a number of significant networking opportunities recently during the 2018 Niagara University Sport, Recreation, and Tourism Summit.
