SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service, 2013-14
Spencer Peavey joined Alfred State in 2006 as the director of Student Activities and Orientation, and became the senior director of Student Engagement in 2012. In 2016, Peavey was appointed assistant vice president of Student Affairs, overseeing Student Engagement, Health and Wellness, Civic Engagement, Career Development and New Student Orientation. Peavey holds professional affiliations with the Association of College Unions International (ACUI), National Association for Campus Activities (NACA), and served for four years as the Upper New York State coordinator for the National Orientation Directors Association (NODA), receiving the award for Outstanding Orientation Professional in 2009.
Peavey is the recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Professional Excellence (2013-14). He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) from St. Bonaventure University.
Peavey resides in Wellsville with his wife, Emily, and is the parent of three children.
