Interior Design

The interior design minor is intended to expand the specialized knowledge of students enrolled in baccalaureate degree programs at Alfred State. This interdisciplinary minor will add an important skill set to the portfolio of graduates who will receive instruction in history and theory, and technical areas such as color, lighting, acoustics, fabrics and furniture and apply them in the design studio. Satisfactory completion of this coursework will broaden employment opportunities for graduates to include interior design, facilities management and corporate space planning offices, or roles in similar divisions of architecture and design firms. Students are required to declare this minor upon acceptance or continuation into the third year of a baccalaureate degree program.
