Nine architecture students were inducted in the inaugural class of Alfred State’s Tau Sigma Delta honor society at an event in the Allegany Room.
Tau Sigma Delta Honor Society in Architecture and Allied Arts is the only national honor society for architecture and design majors that is accredited by the Association of College Honor Societies.
The honor society recognizes intellectual achievement, effort, and initiative as well as leadership and character. This prize of membership acknowledges undergraduate and graduate students who attain high scholastic standing in their field.
Colin Thompson (Webster, NY), student president of the Alfred chapter, was excited to be honored along with his classmates. "This inaugural class of inductees represents the beginning of a continued effort to recognize outstanding students in the BArch program. With the department's faculty and administration in attendance for the induction ceremony, their continued support enables these students to excel in their academic careers. The students' dedication stands as a testament to their passion for the field of architecture and design.”
Joining the inaugural class with Thompson was fifth year students JoAnna Musacchio (Canastota, NY), Isabelle Popoff (Cicero, NY), John Snyder (Hamburg, NY), and Connor Weihoneig (Rochester, NY). Fourth year students John (Jack) Christie (Geneseo, NY), Lauren Fisher (N. Tonawanda, NY), Abigail Jones (Pittsford, NY), and Vina Pham (Rochester, NY) were also inducted.
Each inductee received a certificate to commemorate the achievement from Architecture and Design Chair and Professor William Dean.
