Alfred State College (ASC) is extending their free application period until Dec. 1, 2023, to ensure that more prospective students have an opportunity to be considered for admission without a fee.

“Interest in ASC is at an all-time high and we want to encourage interested students to submit their admissions applications without the burden of additional fees, stated Vice President for Enrollment Management Kishan Zuber. “Last fall, our ‘Free Application offer’ helped more than 4,700 students apply for admission to ASC for free. By extending the free application period this year, we hope to help even more students maximize their educational opportunities without additional expense.”

“Our hands-on education offers access to 200-plus labs, professional practical training and a full college student life experience that culminates in professional good-paying careers. Removing the application fee again this season is a way for us to introduce students to all that ASC has to offer and welcome them to the Pioneer community.

Alfred State is consistently ranked the #1 SUNY Regional College so ASC is a top-ranked college that’s also very affordable. All tuition costs are paid by federal or state funds thanks to Pell, TAP, and Excelsior Scholarships for 77 percent of new ASC students who are full-time and in-state. For out-of-state students, ASC Freeway Scholarships are a road map for finding the best college, making tuition costs $7,070 which is much lower than average costs in surrounding states.

Nearly 1,500 new Pioneers joined Alfred State this fall for a 20-percent increase for the largest incoming class in a decade.

Zuber continued, “We have so much to offer students from near and far. Applying is one of your first steps to learning more about our exciting opportunities.”
