Alfred State to host Job Fair at Northland Campus

Alfred State is seeking electricians, CNC machining, and welding professionals to assist in the instruction of ASC students at the Northland Workforce Training Center (NWTC). There will be a Job Fair held in Buffalo at NWTC on Aug. 3.

Alfred State College (ASC) is currently seeking electricians, CNC machining, and welding professionals to assist in the instruction of ASC students at the Northland Workforce Training Center (NWTC). There will be a Job Fair held in Buffalo at NWTC on Aug. 3 from 4 – 7 p.m.

“By using the state-of-the-art facilities at our Northland Workforce Training Center, many inner-city residents who would not normally consider a college education can stay close to home and quickly learn skills to launch a great-paying career,” said School of Applied Technology Dean Jeff Sevens. “I encourage anyone with these professional skills to join us. Believe me, it is beyond rewarding to see how these students’ lives are changed. As a former electrical teacher, I found the time I spent working with students truly energizing and it was deeply gratifying to be a part of transforming their future.”

Candidates are encouraged to attend the Job Fair at 683 Northland Avenue in Buffalo to learn more about how to be part of an innovative approach to providing non-traditional and adult learners a top-ranked college degree from Alfred State while using the facilities at Northland Workforce Training Center. NWTC advances the economic well-being of Western New York by developing and maintaining a skilled and diverse workforce to meet the demands in the manufacturing and energy sectors.

Professional experience and on-the-job knowledge are valuable to help students learn what it’s really like through hands-on education. Full-time and part-time positions are available to assist in instruction. Food and drink will be provided at the Aug. 3 event.
