“At Alfred State, we offer a high-quality education that is purposeful, practical, and affordable. I know how transformative earning a college degree was in my own life and can’t wait to be hands-on in my own way helping Alfred State students launch their careers. I also have an innate interest in exploring the wilderness and have studied at the National Outdoor Leadership School, so I feel right at home in beautiful Alfred.”

Alfred State College (ASC) is proud to announce Kishan Zuber will be joining college executives as the vice president of Enrollment Management to lead the college’s accomplished and successful recruitment team beginning Aug. 7.

“Kishan’s expertise has made her in demand by universities across the country while she consulted on the ever-evolving world of enrollment trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies,” said ASC President Dr. Steven Mauro. “A national search for candidates led us right back to this SUNY graduate who knows and understands the Southern Tier. Plus, she has a depth of recruitment and relationship management skills that have benefitted more than a dozen universities and colleges during her illustrious career. I’m certain that Kishan will find a welcoming community here because Alfred State faculty and staff appreciate the phenomenal and important work the enrollment team does every day and the benefits that visionary and innovative leadership has brought to this area.”

Before joining a higher education marketing firm specializing in recruitment and customer relationship management systems, Zuber spent most of her professional life at State University of New York (SUNY) institutions including Delhi where she worked in web and electronic media. At Binghamton, she served in a variety of positions as an assistant dean, assistant director, and assistant coach. As a first-generation student, she earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and a master’s in student affairs and diversity, both from Binghamton.

“It’s been enlightening to work with so many different public and private universities, both large and small during my career, but I have a deep desire now to be more closely connected with students on campus to see firsthand how life-changing the college experience can be,” stated Zuber.

Zuber has previously served as a vice president at Waybetter Marketing and private schools Wilkes University and Wells College. Her strategy is always to be future-focused, data-driven, and student-centered. While she has concentrated her work on ways to leverage technology to innovate enrollment and marketing, Zuber is deeply aware of the value of personal relationship building, collaboration, and inspiring leadership within her team.

“My greatest asset is my ability to bring individual departments and team members together while working towards common goals to best serve students and their families during the admissions process, and throughout their enrollment,” added Zuber. “I look forward to expanding the exceptional efforts that have already been made to attract and enroll a diverse and talented pool of students and ensuring that Alfred State is the top choice for hands-on education.”
