The Individual Studies Department offers curriculums that allow students to explore majors, and career options and create a specialized degree program. The department houses three curricula: individual studies (AS), interdisciplinary studies (BTech) and the undeclared major.

Francine Staba is named the department chair. The department is housed within the Academic Advising Center in the Hunter Student Development Center, where mathematics, computer, and study skills labs, as well as classrooms, are equipped with the most recent technological teaching assistance.
