In an ongoing effort to bring you closer to your Alfred State student athletes, we bring you another installment of "Q & A".  This week we sat down with Sophomore football player, Jeff Fabbri.  Fabbri has rushed for an average of 24 yards per game and two touchdowns this season, but he is known much more for his blocking out of the backfield.

What is your level of satisfaction with your team's performance so far this season?  I think we could be at least 5-1 instead of 3-3 but I believe we have grown up as a team and are ready to achieve big things.

Compare the feeling of making the block for another back to make a huge gain versus running for the big gain.  As a fullback I usually don't get the ball very often and when I do I try to make the best I can out of it and run as hard as possible, but I love blocking, even though you don't get the recognition that the tailback does. There is no better feeling then smashing through a hole that shouldn't be there and watching my tailback run untouched for a touchdown.

What attracted you to Alfred State College?  The biggest attraction to Alfred State was the small school feel, I knew that I would be able to walk around campus and know everyone.

Who has been your biggest influence? My biggest influence has to be my aunt.   She has always made sure that my head is where it should be, and she always voiced how important school is for me to reach my goals.

How much pride do you take in seeing your backfield gain yardage?  I love the feeling of being able to run all over the defense. When it doesn't matter if the defense knows it is coming and they still can't stop it, there is no better feeling.

Name 3 people, past or present, that you would like to meet.  Mike Alstott, Ted Williams, Earl Campbell

How do you balance the responsibilities of being a student and an athlete?  I would say time management skills are very important..
