Lackawanna College got contributions from their offense, defense, and special teams as they improved to 6-2 (2-2 NFC) with an 84-20 victory over Alfred State at Maple City Park on Saturday.

Lackawanna College got contributions from their offense, defense, and special teams as they improved to 6-2 (2-2 NFC) with an 84-20 victory over Alfred State at Maple City Park on Saturday.

The Pioneers (3-6, 0-4 NFC) jumped out to a 6-0 lead after Jermell Corbitt (Naples, FL) dove in from one yard out on their first possession.  The Falcons scored the next 16 points in a 2:31 span to take the lead for good. 

ASC cut the lead to 16-12 when Corbitt connected with Mike Septh (Monroe Woodbury) on an 8-yard scoring pass but could never get any closer.  Lackawanna put together three more quick scoring drives and had a 37-12 lead after the 1st quarter.

Corbitt connected with Geoff Hicks (Buffalo/Cleveland Hill) on a 5-yard scoring pass to make it 37-20 with 7:04 remaining in the 2nd quarter but the Pioneers would never get on the board again.  Lackawanna scored two more touchdowns in the quarter to head into halftime with a 50-20 lead.

The Falcons scored three touchdowns in the 3rd and added two more in the 4th to win the contest 84-20.

AJ McKenna finished 9 for 13 with four touchdown passes and 217 yards to pace the offense while Donald Jones caught four passes for 111 yards.  Alan Singletary led the rushing attack with 93 yards and a score on seven carries.  Five different Falcons scored rushing touchdowns.  Keith Carlos caught two touchdown passes (67 yards total) while Johnny Cotson and Anthony Henderson each caught a scoring pass.

Pierre Louis led the Falcon defense with 10 tackles.  Mike Balogun added eight tackles, an interception, and forced a fumble.  Cordero Newkirk picked off three passes while Michael Evans intercepted a pass and returned it for a 60-yard score.  Corey Medina recovered a fumble and returned it 30-yards for a score and Henderson returned a kickoff 65-yards for a score.  Lackawanna intercepted five passes and recovered two fumbles.

Corbitt finished 10 for 21 for 197 yards and two scores.  Robbie Fagan (Miami, FL) led the receiving core with 68 yards on three catches, Septh finished with 44 yards, and Hicks 43.  Calvin Corbin (Winslow, NJ) had 42 yards receiving and 30 yards rushing.

Nick Monroe (Irondeqouit) and Darryl Phillips (Rochester/Wilson) each finished with six tackles while John Chisolm (Trenton, NJ) and Andy Eichas (Hilton) recovered fumbles.

The Pioneers wrap up the 2007 season next Saturday when they travel to Nassau CC.  Kickoff at the Mitchell Athletic Complex in Garden City, NY is scheduled for Noon.
