Mark has retired from Carson City School District. Korinek is retiring as director of operations and facilities after a notable career of about 25 years in construction and maintenance of Carson City's school buildings that focused on keeping its sites safe, warm, and clean for students and staff in all conditions.

Daniel has been appointed to President of Balfour Beauty's building operations in the Mid-Atlantic. Novack succeeds former Mid-Atlantic president, Mike Phillips, in providing strategic oversight for construction operations in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, and sustaining market growth in the healthcare, federal, and education sectors. Novack started his career in construction at Balfour Beatty more than 20 years ago. His career progression has fostered his well-rounded leadership experience that includes purchasing, preconstruction, small business development, community and client relations and operations expertise.

Ann Baldwin, retired staff, Andover, NY, passed away on December 11, 2022, at Maple City Rehabilitation & Nursing Center following a lengthy illness. From 2006 through July 2022, Ann was Admissions Counselor for Alfred State College. Ann was awarded the 2003 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service. A scholarship has been created in her memory.
Robert J. Drago, friend and past College Council member, Hamburg, NY, entered into rest November 21, 2022, after a brief period of declining health. Bob was a longtime supporter of Alfred State College!
Joseph Foreman, retired faculty, Hornell, NY, passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2022. Joseph was employed by SUNY Alfred for more than 40 years as a Professor of Psychology and Human Services. He was Advisor to Psi Beta National Psychology Honor Society. He was nominated for Alumni Teacher of the Year award for 14 consecutive years and was recipient of this award in 1989. Upon his retirement he received the status of Professor Emeritus.
Kenneth Gray, retired staff member, Andover, NY, passed away on January 7, 2023. Ken retired in 2010 after 27 years working for the SUNY system at Alfred.
Mary Lou "Debacoo" Massara, '73, retired staff member, Alfred Station, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2023, after battling a rare form of dementia, FTD.

Harold "Skip" Wood, '66, retired staff, Hornell, NY passed away on January 3, 2023. Skip was employed for 31 years as a Technical Specialist at SUNY Alfred, teaching computer programming. He retired in 1997.
