Alfred State's Student Code of Conduct has been updated to reflect and reinforce new Uniform Sanctions for those found in violation of COVID-19 codes.

We have made it six weeks into our fall semester and we applaud you for adapting to the changes and doing your part to keep our campus healthy and safe. Our COVID-19 rates have been very low thanks to our community’s commitment to our plan and the three core actions of physical distancing, mask use, and intentional focus on hygiene/cleaning. Be proud!
As we’ve communicated before, we have safety expectations and a code of conduct addendum that works to protect us from violations that could compromise our campus’ rates of infection and thereby threaten your full semester. We have expanded our testing to include weekly residential building wastewater and have increased our pool testing amounts to over 700 people per week.
Recently, Chancellor Malatras announced Uniform Sanctions for persons found in violation of COVID-19 codes. These took effect Thursday, Oct. 1 and ensure that the handling of these cases is consistent across SUNY. Without a doubt and because of the serious health implications, these sanctions are significant and can be found here. The college’s Student Code of Conduct has been updated to reflect and reinforce these requirements as well as clarify some of the college’s existing expectation.
The sanctions set minimum sanctions for violations related to COVID-19 safety protocols, including potential suspension from campus housing for at least one year, suspension from classes for at least one year, or permanent dismissal from the college. It is important that you read the policy and code so that you are fully informed of expectations and consequences of the decisions you make.
