Lady Pioneers Win Fifth Straight

The Alfred State College women's basketball team raced to a 93-40 victory over Houghton College JV to win their fifth straight.  The Lady Pioneers are now 5-1 on the season while the Highlanders fall to 1-4.

The Alfred State College women's basketball team raced to a 93-40 victory over Houghton College JV to win their fifth straight.  The Lady Pioneers are now 5-1 on the season while the Highlanders fall to 1-4.

Danielle Conway (Bainbridge Guilford) led the way for the blue & gold with 25 points while Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) finished with 24 points and 13 boards.  Kim Winquist (Wilson) had a season high 14 points and nine rebounds while Shadeeka Campbell (William Grady) added six points and 10 rebounds.  Amanda Blake (Cuba Rushford) chipped in 11 assists and eight rebounds.

Kim Lockard led Houghton with 15 points whil Johanna Damcott finished with 10.

The Pioneers built a 46-8 lead at halftime and never looked back.  ASC held a 72 to 42 rebounding advantage.

ASC travels to Cuyahoga (OH) CC on Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. battle with the Challengers.
