The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recently announced its Two-Year Colleges Women's Volleyball All-American Team, and Alfred State's Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) was named to the First Team. This is the first time ever an Alfred State athlete has received this honor. Toyodome is the only NJCAA Division III player named to the First Team.

This is the first time ever an Alfred State athlete has received this honor. Toyodome is the only NJCAA Division III player named to the First Team. To be eligible for nomination, a player's coach must be a member of the AVCA.
Being named to the AVCA All-American adds to a long list of honors Toyodome has accumulated this season. She was named NJCAA Division III First Team All-American as well as Region III Division III Player of the Year, 1st Team All-Region, 1st Team All-WNYAC, and was named to the All-Tournament teams at both the Region III Championships and the National Championships.
Toyodome finished the season with a team high 400 kills (3.7 kills per game) and a team high .490 hitting percentage. She also collected 307 digs, 60 blocks, and 41 service aces. This season she recorded eight double-doubles (kills and digs) and finished 16 matches with over 10 kills.
Toyodome led the Lady Pioneers to a 38-4 record and a 4th place finish at the National Championships.
