For this week's Q&A, we asked Christina Nolan a few questions about her recent trip to the National Championship Tournament. Nolan is a freshman outside hitter on this year's volleyball team that finished with a record of 38-4 and a 4th place finish at Nationals.

Describe your experience at the National Championship Tournament. The tournament was really fun. Being around all the teams and seeing how other teams from around the country play was really exciting.

What characteristic of your team was the most important to your success? I think when we reached the point of realizing how good we could play when we all talked and stayed excited on the court was the key point to our success.

What attracted you to Alfred State College? The nursing program.

What are your plans for after Alfred State? To start working in a hospital and continue my education to specialize in the pediatric field of nursing.

How do you get yourself ready for a big match? I just listen to my iPod and visualize with the team.

What will the Alfred State volleyball team need to do to get back to Nationals next year? We just need to continue working hard. We're losing some big players next year, but I think if we keep pushing ourselves to being the best we can we have a good chance of going back to Nationals next season.

Who has been your biggest influence? My older brother Matt, he's my best friend and has always pushed me to be the best and do the best that I can do.
