Cross Country Poll: Women 5th, Men 7th

The Alfred State cross country teams remained in the NJCAA Division III cross country poll following a strong showing at the Finger Lakes CC Invitational last Saturday. The women remain ranked #5 while the men moved up one spot to #7.

The Alfred State cross country teams remained in the NJCAA Division III cross country poll following a strong showing at the Finger Lakes CC Invitational last Saturday.  The women remain ranked #5 while the men moved up one spot to #7.


Gloucester (NJ) County College is the #1 ranked team in the women's poll this week followed by Ocean CC, Mohawk Valley CC, and SUNY Delhi.  Alfred is ranked 5th followed by Suffolk CC, Howard (MD) CC, Joliet (IL) College, Queensborough CC, and Fashion Institute of Technology.


The Lady Pioneers finished 2nd, just one point behind Mohawk Valley last weekend at the FLCC Invite.


On the men's side, Harper (IL) College is in the top spot this week followed by Howard, Mohawk Valley, Delhi, Ocean, and Gloucester.  Alfred is #7 followed by Suffolk, Queensborough, and Lorrain (OH) CC.


The Pioneers won at FLCC last weekend defeating #3 Mohawk Valley by six points.


Both the men and women travel to Houghton College on Saturday for the Highlander Invitational.  Action is slated to begin at Noon.
