The Alfred State volleyball team fell 22-25, 25-11, 18-25, 20-25 to Genesee CC in their WNYAC opener. The Lady Pioneers are now 4-2 on the year while the Lady Cougars are 5-8.
Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) led the way for the blue & gold with 10 kills and six service aces. Lera Braun (Waterloo) chipped in 18 assists, nine kills, and seven digs while Jessica Ramsey (Tioga) led the way with 14 digs and four aces.
The Lady Pioneers return home on Saturday to host the Alfred Pod. They will take on Fulton Montgomery CC at 9 a.m. followed by matches vs. Columbia Greene CC (approximately 12:30 p.m.), Hudson Valley CC (approximately 2 p.m.), and SUNY Adirondack (approximately 5:30 p.m.).
