Two seniors in the masonry program were recently award the Southern Tier Concrete Products, Inc. Achievement Award for Excellence in the trowel trades. The award is presented to outstanding students in the masonry curriculum. This year’s recipients are Tessa Boyce of Deer Isle, ME, and Alan Bieser of Westfield, PA. Southern Tier Concrete Products manufactures quality sustainable living products made from local materials, and has long been involved with Alfred State’s masonry program. The materials, scholarships, technical support, tools, training aids, and scholarships provided by the organization help the college produce graduates with the necessary skills for the trade, and are greatly appreciated.
