Lady Spikers finish 3-2 at OCC

After starting the Onondaga CC Cara Bryant Memorial 2-0 on Friday evening, the Alfred State College volleyball team was 1-2 on Saturday to finish 3-2 for the tournament.

After starting the Onondaga CC Cara Bryant Memorial 2-0 on Friday evening, the Alfred State College volleyball team was 1-2 on Saturday to finish 3-2 for the tournament. 

The Lady Pioneers fell in three games to Monroe CC, 22-25, 25-18, 7-15, but rebounded to down Cayuga CC 25-15, 25-16 to wrap up pool play 3-1. 

In the quarterfinals as the #3 overall seed, ASC fell in three games to Jamestown CC, 19-25, 25-21, 13-15.

Brittany Haines (Salamanca) was named all-tournament after another solid day.  She passed out 51 assists, and recorded 39 digs and 10 kills.  Meghan Kraus (Trumansburg) finished with 28 kills, 14 digs, and five aces while Kelley Dumbleton (Warsaw) finished with 15 kills and 19 digs.

Ashley Hulse (Hammondsport) had 10 kills and six blocks, Mandy Bush (Altoona, PA), and 27 digs, and Kara Anderson (Wayne) chipped in 16 digs.

The Lady Pioneers are now 9-7 overall on the season and 9-5 in Region III Division III competition.

ASC returns to action on Tuesday when they host Jamestown CC at 6 p.m. at the Orvis Activities Center.
