Alfred State Provost Dr. Kristin Poppo has announced the dean’s list of academically impressive students for spring 2017. To be listed, students must have completed at least 12 credit hours for the semester and earned a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) out of a possible 4.0.
New archery club wins national grant

In its inaugural year, the Archers of Alfred earned a grant from USA Archery to assist with long-term program development. Alfred State is one of only 26 clubs in the country to receive a collegiate archery program grant.
Best in business award to Valerie Nixon

Executive Vice President Valerie Nixon received the Robert J. Wagner Business Officer of the Year Award at the annual conference of the State University of New York Business Officers Association (SUBOA). While Nixon serves as president of SUBOA, association members kept it a secret to surprise Nixon with their highest award.

Pioneer Spirit at the 2016 Great Race: When the rear axle on another competitor’s Model A failed, the Alfred State team swept in to swap out the good rear axle from their Ford, allowing the other team to finish the race.
