Alfred State College (ASC) has partnered with CampusESP to design a new web tool that allows parents and family to stay connected to their student. The ASC Parent & Family Connections portal was launched last week.
“We are excited to offer this service to our Pioneer parents and families,” commented Vice President for Enrollment Management Kishan Zuber. “It was great to partner with an industry leader to develop a platform that allows families to support their student, no matter how far away from home they are.”
After signing up with the website, families will be able to access college news, announcements, events, and much more. The website is customizable, and users can join a variety of communities including but not limited to; financial aid and scholarships, applied technology families, first-generation students, health and safety, and families of student athletes. Soon, the portal will also give students an option to share academic and financial information with their parents.
Users can also sign up for e-mail newsletters and choose the frequency of when they receive them in their inbox (daily, weekly, monthly).
Assistant Director of First-Year Engagement, Calsey Bump, is excited about the new opportunities the Parent & Family Connections portal will bring. “This site will make it much easier for families to stay connected to what is going on here on campus. Families will have more access to information, which will in turn allow them to support their students better. Additionally, we are working to launch a Parent and Family Association this fall, which will further enable our families and supporters to feel like they are a part of our extended Pioneer family.”
CampusESP works with colleges and universities across the country helping parents and families support their students.
