The sisters of Delta Chi Omega (DCO) and the Center for Civic Leadership are excited to announce that the annual Project Prom Dress Extravaganza will be held April 6 at Alfred State. The event will be held in the Small Event Space in the Student Leadership Center between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Project Prom Dress is returning on April 6

Project Prom Dress is a student-driven initiative and is the passion and philanthropy of the sorority sisters of DCO. Annually, the sisters collaborate with individuals and local bridal shops to collect new and gently used gowns, shoes, and accessories.

DCO Vice President Marina Miketish is excited to be part of this event. “We know that sometimes dresses can cost a lot for formal events, so we just want to make sure that every girl has the opportunity to feel their best and look their best on their special night.”

Director of Global Engagement and Civic Wellbeing Cyan Corwine is excited to continue this event for the community. “The Project Prom Dress Extravaganza means a great deal to local families and the sisters of Delta Chi Omega have worked hard to keep this initiative a mainstay for our community. The Center for Civic Leadership is proud to have this event kickstart our campus Spring into Action week and appreciate all the donors and student that make this event possible year after year.”

“I remember shopping for my own prom dress,” commented DCO philanthropy chair Aubrea Broker. “I want to make sure that the girls in the local community can feel just as beautiful as I did. They can try on dresses from our selection and hopefully find a dress that they love.”

If a community member has a dress or accessories they would like to donate for the event they can contact Corwine (CorwinCY@alfredstate.edu)  or Broker (BrokerAM@alfredstate.edu) to arrange a time to meet.
