The Alfred State Drama Club is excited to present “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical” as their fall production. Four performances will be held at the Cappadonia Auditorium from Nov. 16 – Nov. 18.

“The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical” is a musical with music and lyrics by Rob Rokicki and a book by Joe Tracz, based on the 2005 novel by Rick Riordan. The musical follows Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old boy who newly discovers that he is a demigod and goes on a quest to find Zeus’ missing lightning bolt and prevent a war between the Greek gods.

The cast features Ryan Mitchell (Trumansburg, NY) who plays Percy Jackson, Sarah Miller (Bath, NY) who portrays Annabeth Chase, and Anthony Woods (Amityville, NY) who plays Grover Underwood. 

“Our cast has worked hard, and I am excited for them to showcase their talents,” commented Director Abby Hurley. “This is a really fun show that all ages will enjoy.”

Opening night is Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a 7 p.m. showing on Nov. 17, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. shows on Nov. 18.

Tickets are now on sale at the campus bookstore and can be purchased with cash, card, or CSA. Admission is $5 for students and $10 for general admission. Tickets will be sold at the door if they have not been sold out during pre-sale.
