“It is a small tight-knit class. We all know each other, and we all have bonded not only over the degree but our own personal experiences. We go through the difficult times together and celebrate the positive times.”

Chelsea came back to Alfred State after deciding to change career paths. After working as a veterinary technician, she was looking for a new challenge.

“I previously graduated from Alfred State and earned a degree in veterinary technology. I have always loved the imaging field so I decided to come back for ultrasound."

Seeing real life patients that have symptoms in the clinical setting has enhanced the learning experience for Chelsea. “Going to different hospitals and seeing so many different cases and meeting so many different people have helped my growth. Every technician that you work with you gives you a new piece of advice that you can apply to your career.”

The friendships built in the classroom have been important. “It is a small tight-knit class. We all know each other, and we all have bonded not only over the degree but our own personal experiences. We go through the difficult times together and celebrate the positive times.”

“The professors are always supportive and approachable. We can ask them any questions. They are always there to help us do the best that we can.”

With a new set of skills, Chelsea is excited to explore new opportunities. “I would like to explore my options. I would love to travel to different states, maybe different countries to use my skills.”
