Alfred State honored more than seventy students at Commencement ceremonies held students at the Northland campus in Buffalo. Director of Special Student Programs Leslie Buckley presided over the event.

Never forget that you did this work. You have all gained the knowledge and the confidence needed to step into your careers.”
The commencement ceremonies featured welding graduate Delaney Nichols (N. Tonawanda, NY – Starpoint) as the student speaker. Nichols was the recipient of the 2023 Vanguard Award and the 2023 Provost Award. “Not only did I have the opportunity to receive a fantastic education through Alfred, but I was also given the chance to see just how far I could push myself with the program. I cannot say how thankful I am to be a graduating student of Alfred State.”
Alfred State President Dr. Steven Mauro also addressed the graduates and congratulated them on their hard work leading to this day. The Northland career coaches announced the graduates as they walked across the stage to receive their diplomas.
The Northland campus offers associate degrees in CNC manufacturing and machine tool, electrical construction and maintenance electrician, and welding technology at the Northland Workforce Training Center in the east side of Buffalo, NY.
The Northland Workforce Training Center opened prior to the 2018-19 school year.
