Middaugh sworn in as newest University Police Officer

Jessica Middaugh (Wellsville) was sworn in by Alfred State President Dr. Steven Mauro as the college’s newest University Police Officer on Dec. 1.

She comes to Alfred State after serving as Director of Public Safety at Alfred University. In that position, she oversaw all operations relating to campus safety and security, in addition to managing the daily office operations and staff oversite.

Previous job experiences include Airport Police at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (Honolulu, HI), Public Safety Officer at Alfred University, Police Officer with the Andover and Wellsville Police Departments, and is the lead Animal Cruelty Investigator for the SPCA of Allegany County.

Middaugh has earned numerous certificates and training including but not limited to law enforcement technology, FEMA training, heroin prevention and investigation, networking and social media investigations, and is a certified R.A.D instructor.

Middaugh is a graduate of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Academy and has an associate degree in criminal justice from Jamestown Community College. 

She has already started her duties at Alfred State.
