Farm Fest 2022 allowed visitors to learn more about Livingston County agriculture. The kid-friendly event featured food vendors, a petting zoo, fun activities, and an educational wagon ride.

Arlig-Hinz was excited for Alfred State’s involvement in the event. “Students from our Ag department were a vital part of the Farm Fest, which attracted over 2,000 members of the community. Their volunteer work was greatly appreciated by the event committee, Coyne Farms, and other farmers who had also volunteered. It was a great networking opportunity for the students and have been asked to help with other activities in the future!”

Arlig-Hinz and her students, Hope Avedisian (Hilton), Abby Beidel (Newville, PA), Elyssa Desotelle (Ellenburg Depot), Emma Dominic (Churubusco), and Tyler Norton (Pavilion) helped with the set-up, helped people on the tour wagons, and drove the tractors that pulled the wagons.

The event focused on showing the community the importance of agriculture and highlight where the food is grown.
