Alfred State College graduate Brian Kelly ’17 and ’19 and his company, Kelly Design and Development, LLC has been awarded a business development grant from the City of Olean’s Boost Business Grant Program.

The $3,100 grant is meant to expand business activity in the City of Olean and create job opportunities for city residents. Kelly’s business was founded in 2021 and provides development services to help businesses enhance their online presence, including web development, digital media content creation, software development, and technical guidance.

Kelly earned a bachelors’ degree in application software development in 2019 and an associate degree in computer information systems in 2017 from Alfred State.

“With these funds, I’m contracting with local professionals to increase my brand’s awareness and grow my business. Olean is a wellspring of talent and opportunity. I am proud to be a member of the community. The entrepreneurs I have met inspire me to believe we are the first in the rising tide of amazing businesses proud to call Olean home.

“My education at Alfred State has been the bedrock by which I was able to hone my skills and develop my business; an experience I am incredibly thankful for.”
