The Alfred State College volleyball team gave #8 Erie CC all they could handle in set one but could not solve the Lady Kats, 25-27, 13-25, 20-25.  ASC wraps up the regular season with a 21-14 record.

Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) led the blue & gold with nine kills and four digs while Meghan Kraus (Trumansburg) had eight kills and two aces.  Mandy Bush (Altoona, PA) had 16 assists, seven digs, and three kills and Taylor McCarthy (Watkins Glen) had 12 digs.

Alfred State has earned the #5 seed for this weekend's WNYAC Tournamnent at Erie CC.  The Lady Pioneers will open up play in the tournament at 11:30 a.m. when they take on Jamestown CC in a best of five match.  ASC and JCC both finished 2-4 in WNYAC play this year but JCC got the higher seed based on to their head-to-head WNYAC contest in which the Jayhawks won 3-1.

Niagara CCC is the #1 seed in the tournament followed by Genesee CC, Erie CC, Jamestown CC, Alfred State, Monroe CC, and Mercyhurst North East.  Semifinals are slated for 3 p.m. and the final will be at 5 p.m.
