Track Team Competes at Cornell

The Alfred State College indoor track & field team competed in the Cornell University Kane Invitational on Saturday.  Over 1,300 athletes representing 20 colleges competed.

The Alfred State College indoor track & field team competed in the Cornell University Kane Invitational on Saturday.  Over 1,300 athletes representing 20 colleges competed.

Ken Maddox (Frederick Douglass) was 5th in the 200 m (23.55) and ran the 60 m in 7.39.  Ian Marshall (Bronx/DeWitt Clinton) was 7th in the 400 m (52.51) and ran the 200 m in 24.14.  Logan Drummer (Pioneer) ran the 1,000 m in 2:39.76, John Sweeney (Barker) ran the 3,000 m in 9:28.77, and Derek Snyder (Bath) ran the 3,000 m in 9:36.12.

Bridget McMahon (Avoca) ran the 1 mile in 5:43.18 while Pam Breedlove (Rochester/East) ran the 60 m in 8.46 and the 200 m in 28.91.

In the Region III Heptathlon competition, Sage Ventour (Brooklyn/Science Skills) finished with 2,913 points while Steven Hickey (Rochester/Aquinas) scored 2,498.  Ventour finished 4th and Hickey was 5th.

The Pioneers return to action on Friday when they complete the Region III Indoor Championships while competing at the RIT Invitational.
