Tough 2nd and 3rd Quarter Trips Up Pioneers

The Alfred State lacrosse team raced out to a 5-2 lead after one quarter but Dean (MA) College outscored the Pioneers 11-3 in the middle quarters to grab a lead they wouldn't let up in a 14-11 victory.  Dean is now 1-1 on the year while Alfred is 2-1.

The Alfred State lacrosse team raced out to a 5-2 lead after one quarter but Dean (MA) College outscored the Pioneers 11-3 in the middle quarters to grab a lead they wouldn't let up in a 14-11 victory.  Dean is now 1-1 on the year while Alfred is 2-1.

Chance Lowry (Waterloo) led the blue & gold with four goals and an assist while Mike Hart (Ajax, ONT.) added three goals an an assist.  Lance Elithrope (Shaftsbury, VT) chipped in two goals and an assist, Morris Rogers (East Aurora) had a goal and an assist, Keegan Phelan (East Aurora) found the back of the net once, and Aaron Koskowski (East Aurora) passed out an assist.

Brad Stowell (Marcellus) made 16 saves in net for the Pioneers.  Alfred was outshot 44 to 34 in the contest.

Alfred State returns to Region III action on Wednesday when they travel to Rochester for a 4 p.m. contest with Monroe CC.
