Six Indoor Tracksters Earn All-Region Honors

Six members of the Alfred State College indoor track and field team have earned All-Region honors based on winning their events at the Region III Championships.  The men's team won the program's third straight indoor championship while the women finished third.

Six members of the Alfred State College indoor track and field team have earned All-Region honors based on winning their events at the Region III Championships.  The men's team won the program's third straight indoor championship while the women finished third.

Wenley Louis (West Irondequoit) and David Gross (Brockport) were named All-Region in two events.  Louis won the triple jump with a leap of 13.72 m and the long jump with a mark of 6.92 m.  Gross won the shot put with a toss of 15.21 m and the weight throw with a mark of 15.24.

Schuyler Duross (Johnstown) won the heptathlon with 4,132 points, Dan Reynolds (Wayland Cohocton) won the pole vault with a leap of 4.27 m, and Brian Zintel (Letchworth) won the 800 m in 2:06.24.

On the women's side Reaghan Bulkley (Avoca) earned All-Region by winning the long jump with a leap of 4.38 m.

Louis, Gross, Duross, and Reynolds will represent Alfred State in this weekend's NJCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.  Follow the action at: http://texastech.cstv.com/sports/c-track/spec-rel/njcaa.html
