Mercyhurst North East outscored Alfred State 9-2 in the final three minutes of the first half to break a 21-21 en route to a 77-67 WNYAC victory.  ASC is now 3-11 (0-2 WNYAC) on the season while MNE is 10-3 (1-1).

Mercyhurst North East outscored Alfred State 9-2 in the final three minutes of the first half to break a 21-21 en route to a 77-67 WNYAC victory.  ASC is now 3-11 (0-2 WNYAC) on the season while MNE is 10-3 (1-1).

Geovonte Rose led the Saints with 18 points and 15 rebounds while Nate Williams added 18 points and 12 boards.  DeJaun McGaughy added 14.  Mercyhurst shot 44.7% from the field and held a 49 to 41 advantage on the boards.

Patrick Parker (Jamaica/Hillcrest) led ASC with 14 points and seven rebounds while Younatan Gobezai (Bethesda, MD) added 13.  Melvin Jenkins (Brooklyn/Susan McKinney) came off the bench and added 12.  The Pioneers shot 34.8% from the field and was 2 for 22 from beyond the three-point arc.

The Pioneers look to get back on track on Saturday when they host Monroe CC.  Tip-off is at 2 p.m.
