JP Frey (Erie, PA/McDowell) hit a solo homer in the first inning to give the blue & gold an early lead.  Lackawanna answered right back with five runs in the bottom of the first but the Pioneers scored three in the 2nd, and five in the 3rd to take back the lead.  ASC added three in the 5th to seal the victory.

Anthony Espe (Union Endicott) was 2 for 3 while Jake Dale (Keshequa) was 2 for 4.  Andrew Alexander (LeRoy) and Frey each drove in two runs each.  Mark Ciccotti (Horseheads) settled down after a shaky first inning and tossed a complete game.  He allowed eight hits and six earned runs while walking two and striking out seven.

In the nightcap, Lackawanna held ASC to just five hits and scored a single run in the 1st and three more in the 3rd to earn the victory.  Steve Smith (Hornell) was the lone Pioneer with multiple hits finishing 2 for 2.  Tyler Ward (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) allowed five hits and four earned runs in six innings of work on the mound.  He walked two and struck out five.

ASC returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Pitt-Bradford to take on the JV Panthers.  First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m.
