Rasheed Williams rushed for 263 yards and two scores as Louisburg College defeated Alfred State in the rain and wind 23-0 on Saturday.  The Hurricanes are now 6-1 on the year while the Pioneers fall to 3-3.

Rasheed Williams rushed for 263 yards and two scores as Louisburg College defeated Alfred State in the rain and wind 23-0 on Saturday.  The Hurricanes are now 6-1 on the year while the Pioneers fall to 3-3.

Williams got the Hurricanes going in the 1st quarter rushing for over 100-yards and setting up two scoring drives.  He capped the first scoring drive with a one-yard run and Sam Kidd capped the second drive with a four-yard run following a 68-yard Williams scamper put Louisburg in the red zone.

Neither team could get much offense going most of the rest of the game.  Louisburg connected on a 24-yard field goal with 5:21 remaining in the 3rd quarter to make it 16-0.  The Hurricanes put the game out of reach on Williams' second score of the game with 3:39 remaining int he contest.  He scored from two-yards out.

Williams' accounted for 263 yards (37 carries) of the Hurricanes 337 total yards in the contest.

The Hurricane defense held the Pioneer offense to just 175 total yards on the game and intercepted four passes.

Sammy Diaz (Dansville) had 33 yards rushing on nine carries while Greg Hampton (Uniondale) had 32 yards on nine carries.  114 of the Pioneers 175 total yards were on the ground.  Tavon Moore (Syracuse/Bishop Grimes) caught five passes for 49 yards.

Titus Best led Louisburg with 11 tackles (four for a loss) and an interception while Kewitt Koonce had two incerceptions on the day.

Anthony Turner (Syracuse/Corcoran) and Alonzo Joyner (Queens/Information Technology) led the blue & gold with nine tackles each.  Antonio Williams (New Havens, CT) added eight tackles, Rory Spain (Tully) picked off a pass and Neicefe Rieddick (Syracuse/Bishop Grimes) forced a fumble.

Alfred State finishes the season with three straight road trips starting with a trip to Dayton, OH next Saturday.  The Pioneers will kick off vs. Wright State is slated for Noon.
