Neither team could get one in the back of the net in the first 61 minutes of the game before Kyle Binder (Hornell) placed a perfect corner kick on the head of Jason Durst (Gates Chili) who gave the Pioneers the lead.  Nine minutes later Binder once again placed another corner kick that found the foot of Erik Reynolds (East Rochester).  The goal was the first of the season for Reynolds.

Tompkins Cortland had a 7 to 2 shot advantage in the first half as they played with the wind but Alfred State turned the tables in the second half and held a 9 to 3 advantage.

Dan Fabiny (Wellsville) recorded eight saves in net to pick up the victory.  He has now been in net for seven straight shutouts and nine shutouts on the season.  Jesse Nulty made six saves for the Panthers.

Alfred State advances to the Region III Final Four for the second time in Coach Todd Weil's three seasons at the helm of the program.  They will take on Delhi who defeated North Country CC 4-0 in another quarterfinal contest.  ASC defeated Delhi 2-1 in overtime in the first game of the season for both teams.
