The Alfred State College men's swimming team sits in 7th place after the first two days of competition at the NJCAA National Championships.  The Pioneers picked up 72 points after the first two days.

The Alfred State College men's swimming team sits in 7th place after the first two days of competition at the NJCAA National Championships.  The Pioneers picked up 72 points after the first two days.

The Pioneers have earned all 72 of their points in relay competition.  In the 800 free relay the Pioneers team of Brett Kozlowski (N. Tonawanda), Kevin Minderlein (Mullica Hill, NJ), Phillip Valenta (Maine Endwell), and Aaron Mychack (Lansing), placed 6th with a swim of 7:39.86.

The same four Pioneers combined to earn 7th place in the 400 medley relay (3:52.42).

In the 200 free relay ASC's team of Valenta, Brett Au (N. Tonawanda), Kozlowski, and Mychack finished 6th (1:32.58).

Indian River (FL) CC leads with 363 points.  ASC trails 5th place Iowa Central CC by 23 points and 6th place Ocean (NJ) CC by 13 points.                               

Action continues Friday at 10 a.m. and runs all the way till Saturday at the Flickenger Center in downtown Buffalo.
