The NCMPR District 1 Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in communications at community and technical colleges in District 1. It's the only regional competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and PR professionals at two-year colleges. Rewarding excellence among two-year college communicators is one of many ways NCMPR supports the professional development of its members.

The Alfred State Athletics Brochure is used as a recruitment tool for prospective students for its intercollegiate Pioneer teams as well as to publicize campus intramural sports and the Fitness Center.

Alfred State buses travel between the college’s two campuses, but are also used to transport athletic teams, nursing students going to clinical experiences, and students competing in national contests or going on field trips. These mobile billboards illustrate the breadth of programming and activities available to students; additionally, the inclusion of a QR code lets other motorists (prospective students, their families, and other interested parties) access the Alfred State Web site with minimal effort.

NCMPR District 1 is comprised of Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec, and United Kingdom.
